There are many reference to the institution on Zakaat in the Holy Quraaan , but here few verses are quoted. By no means shall you attain righteousness unless you give freely of that which you love.

The alms are only for the poor and the needy, and for those emloyed in connectin the therewith, and for those whose hearts are to bve reconciled and for the freeing of slaves, and for thoe in debvts and for the cause of Allah, and for the qayfarer an rodinance from Allah, ANd Allah is All-knowing ,wise

Take alms out of their wealth so that thou mayest clense them and purify them thereby. And pray for them; th prayer is indeed a source of tranquillity for them. And Allah is All-Hearing, All-knowing.
