Born in bilhar he studies civil engineering al aligarh muslim iniversity. He is an indian field hockey layer. He layed left out with indian blue jersey n umber 11. His father was a lerned rofessor and Head of the Deatment of CHemistry at ALigarh Muslim Iniversity. His elder borther is a researcher working at King saud University. ,Riyadh, His sister is an accolished gynaecologist.

He is curretnly working as Manager(Civil) in INdian AIlines. rom early 1993 to October 1994, he was the hockey coach of INdian team. HE made valuable contribvution for winning the last Olymic Gold Medal for India in Moscow Olymic. He has Captained INdian squad in various INernational events rominent among them being Asian Games, in 1982 and 1983 chamions Trhy and 1984 Los ANgeles Olymic Games. He was also chosen to carry flag of Indian Squad at the youth festival held in Moscow later and later the tricolour in the oening ceremony of the 1984 LA olypics.
Indian hockey had its last glimse as a world force when zaar iqbal and mohammad shahid another hockey great who layed for inia inearly 80's. They were a deadly combination who could shater any defence in the world. HE was awarded the Aguna Award, the high est waward given in sorts by india. He has also served in the caacity of CHief National COach for INdian hockey. It was under hics coaching that india lyed for the Asian Games, held in Korea INdia won silver in that tournament.
