Zakaat
Zakaat as we have stated several times in this
book purifies the property of the people with
means And clear it from the shares which do
not belongs to them anymore. These shares must
be distributed among the due beneficiaries as
stipulated in the Quran. When it is payable a
certain percentage of the wealth should be
distributed immediately in the right manner,
Because the owner no longer has m oral or
legal possession of that percentage. If he
fails to do So, there is corruption and plain
usurpation from every point of view, moral and
spiritual, legal and . It means that
unlawfully-retained percentage makes the whole
lot impure and endangered. But on The other
hand, if the poors dividends are asserted and
distributed among due beneficiaries, the
Remaining portions of the lot will be pure and
decent. Pure capital and decent possessions
are the First requisites, of permanent
prosperity and honest transaction.
Zakaat soes not only purify the property of
the contributor but also purifies his heart
from Selfishness and greed for wealth. In
return, it purifies the heart of the recipient
from envy, jealousy, Hatred and uneasiness;
and it fosters in his heart instead, goodwill
and warm wishes for the Contributor. As
a result, the society at large will purify and
free itself from Class warfare and suspicion
from ill feelings and distrust, from
Corruption dis-integration, and from all such
evils.
Zakaat mitigates to a minimum, the sufferings
of the needy and poor memes of society. It is
a most comforting consolation to the less
fortunate people yet it is a loud appeal to
every body to roll Up his sleeves and improve
his lot. To the needy, it is a warm invitation
to earn more so that he can benefit more. To
all parties Concerned, it is directly as well
as indirectly, an open treasure of spiritual
investment that Compensated abundantly.
Zakaat is a healthy form of internal security
against selfish greed and social dissension,
against The intrusion and penetration of
subversive ideologies. It is an effective
instrument in cultivation the Spirit of
social responsibility on the part of the
contributor, and th e feeling of security and
belonging
On the part of the recipient. It is a vivid
manifestation of the spiritual and
humanitarian spirit of Responsive interactions
between the individual society, it is a sound
illustration of the fact that Though Islam
does not hinder private enterprise or condemn
private possession, yet it does not
Tolerate selfish and greedy capitalism. It is
an expression of the general philosophy of
Islam which Adopts a moderate and middle but
effective course between the individual and
society between the Citizen and the
statem between capitalism and socialism,
between materialism and spirituality.
Thus, the spirit of Zakaat is to move the
economical condition of the society. On one
hand, there Will be help to the poor and needy
and on the other hand, there will circulation
of the money. Allah Does not want wealth to
remind pilled up in the hands of a few persons
and the society at large
Suffers as regards the basic needs of daily
life. Allah wants that there should be free
and voluntary Distribution of wealth so that
the poor and the needy may not die of hunger
or remain without clothes Or suffer for want
of medical aid. The distribution should be
free, ie. Without consideration of usury O
even labour of any sort sot that the poor may
not have to suffer further in order to get rid
of the Suffering already at hand.
Spending in the name of Allah for the help of
his servants without any consideration on one
hand Tends to improve the financial condition
of the society at large and on the other had
it also infuses The qualities of
generosity, large=heatedness and sense of
brotherhood i ht minds of the believer is But
one single family, the members of which are
always ready to spend whatever they have for
the Welfare of the others. This in fact is
what we call the Islamic social order which
neither the wealth or force labour for
anything that is given to him the sustenance
of his life nor is the wealth allowed. To
remain piled up in the hands of few persons at
the sufferings of humanity at large.
